Oath is really interesting <2025-11-06 Thu>

My wife kindly gave me this new boadgame called Oath. It is a game in which the outcome of one game affect the next ones. Similar like a perpetual non-ending campaign.

The other side of it, it is designed to create kingmaking. Usually, I don’t like kingmaking but here it works. Maybe because it was designed around that? One could argue that Root (by the same designer) also has kingmaking, but in Root the scoring seems a bit more arbitrary on who is going to win.

Overall, one of my favorite heavy games!
